Bushmills Malt 16 year Irish whiskey

This exceptional Single Malt Irish Whiskey is matured in three different wood barrels for unparalleled taste and quality. The whiskey is first matured in American bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry butts for at least 16 years. While lingering in the bourbon barrels and sherry butts, the malt develops toasted wood, vanilla and sweet nutty flavours. The malt whiskey is then vatted and married for many months in large old port wine pipes. Here, a nice finishing touch of sweet wine character is acquired, and all of the flavour elements mature and mellow together.Nose: A honeyed almond fragrance, vanilla oakiness and delicate port wine notes, enhancing the rich maltiness of the whiskey.Taste: The ageing of three woods delivers a unique and wonderful complexity of honeyed, nutty maltiness, toasted wood and sweet port wine flavours.Finish: A sweet wine character first and then the various flavour elements blending together mysteriously.
