1996 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

The 1996 Mercedes Benz C-Class sedan is available in three models - C220, C280 and C36. New for 1996 is a remote-entry system and a new instrument cluster. The C220 is powered by a 2.2L 148hp 4-cylinder engine and the C280 uses a 2.8L 194hp 6-cylinder engine. The limited-production C36 AMG is equipped with special 3.6L 268hp 6-cylinder engine. Only about 400 C36 sedans wil be imported to the United States. Standard safety features include air bags, ABS brakes and side-impact protection. Convenience features include automatic climate control and central locking system. Genuine burl walnut trim and Bose stereo system are standard.
