Sony DDU1613 comes with a specification of 16X max. DVD-ROM read speed and 40X max. CD-ROM read speed. It has a sustained transfer rate of 21,632 (KB/sec maximum) for DVD-ROM disc and a buffer memory of 512KB. In the DDU1613 DVD-ROM drive, Sony has implemented an improved mechanism to enhance the stability of the drive while playing an unbalance/uneven disc.
